Role: Compliance Policy Officer (Glasgow)

If you have experience of working with policies, this is an opportunity to take on a role with great development potential in our Compliance team. As a Compliance Policy Officer you’ll be managing and developing our policies, making sure they’re simple, robust, well integrated and capable of evolving to meet all risks, challenges and opportunities.

In Compliance we have a crucial role to play in safeguarding the business, our clients and our customers.

What you’ll do

Working in a small, specialist team, you’ll contribute to the management of all company policies, making sure we’re compliant with our existing framework, and our policy documents can stand up to close client and regulatory scrutiny. This will involve looking into areas such as our controls and the way we communicate policy.

You will work with various senior stakeholders across the organisation to ensure that the policies you review and rewrite have account of the needs of the business alongside meeting the organisation’s regulatory obligations.

In the course of your work you’ll:

  • Conduct periodic policy reviews in line with our business’ Policy Framework
  • Manage an electronic policy portal
  • Develop and release policies, policy guidance and training
  • Co-ordinate policy strategy development and build relationships with policy owners to deliver effective policies, which work from a business and a resilience point of view
  • Provide policy advice and guidance to senior managers and other key stakeholders

What you’ll bring

We’re looking for someone (preferably working within a regulated industry) with the experience of working with policy, and an understanding of how policy works. You’ll need experience in Policy strategy, research, management and development.

You’ll have excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing. You’ll be able to build strong relationships with colleagues, including up to a senior level. You’ll also be able to write clearly and concisely and articulate technical issues in engaging business terms.

If your application is successful, you’ll have to undergo important background checks before you can start working with us. These will include a full credit check, a criminal record check, residency and right to work checks.
