Zinc achieves Bronze rating with EcoVadis
Zinc is committed to sustainability and improving our contribution towards the UK’s net zero carbon targets. Zinc has been working with one of its clients and EcoVadis to assess our approach and commitment to sustainability, looking across areas such as Environment, Labour and Human Rights, Ethics and Sustainable Procurement.
We have also worked with the Carbon Trust to identify any areas of improvement for the business, to help us develop our plan to deliver a net zero level of carbon emissions by 2030.
The reviews carried out by both companies have allowed us to revisit our energy usage and reassess our internal systems and improve our tracking measures. We have since invested in upgrading our HVAC system via a new boiler covering our Stratford offices that will greatly enhance our control around energy efficiency compared to the previous version. We have replaced lights with LED versions, completed IT system upgrades to reduce energy usage, and are focussed on continuing to look at ways we can maintain our trajectory to being carbon neutral by 2030.
EcoVadis pride themselves on being the world’s most trusted provider of business sustainability ratings. We achieved an overall Bronze rating with EcoVadis based on their initial assessment in 2021, putting Zinc within the top 50% of all businesses within our sector.
Chris Hague, Managing Director said; “Whilst we viewed this as a good start last year, our investments and developments since are evidence of our ongoing commitment to making improvements where we can, and to being open in sharing this with our clients and customers alike.”
